Flow Physio and Pilates is proud to be working with Fitness in Torbay.  We are able to offer the Exercise on Prescription Scheme, which aims to support people in building a regular level of physical activity that they enjoy.  This scheme offers a range of different types of exercise including gym-based, swimming and now Pilates. The prescription cost is set at £36 and this covers a ten week period of support, either once or twice a week depending on the type of exercise you are participating in. Pilates with the Fitness in Torbay is offered within a class setting.  As part of your prescription you will be assessed on a one-to-one basis for the first session then you will attend a weekly class for the next nine weeks.  Following this you will then have the option to continue with the class. Occupational Health

Nowadays a lot of our jobs require us to be seated for extended periods of time.  Although our bodies try and adapt to this, it isn’t ideal; neither for the body nor mind.

At Flow we can offer an on-site physiotherapy clinic to offer advice and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions.

We are also able to offer on-site Pilates classes (subject to a suitable environment).  These can be a great way of getting up and moving during your lunch break or after work; enabling you benefit from physical activity whilst spending time with your colleagues.

Flow also offers talks on managing stress in the workplace, introducing the concept of Mindfulness and looking at postures at work and increasing physical activity levels. For more information, get in touch or read our blog post.

If you would like to learn more about managing stress at work, local Physiotherapist and Mindfulness Teacher Lynne Roberts is running Stress Management and Wellness courses and classes. Prices are £35 for the day and £7 for the weekly class which is at 6pm every Tuesday. We are all busy people.  We so often rush through each day, moving from task to task getting our list of daily chores ticked off.  We often don’t find the time to pay attention to the moment; how we are moving, how we are feeling and what we are doing.  We eat on the go, look for quick fixes and often find it difficult to make time to nourish our bodies and look after ourselves. If our energy is firmly focused on other things, our energy is drawn away from us and can lead us to feeling fatigued and detached from ourselves.

We all know how important exercise is.  However, it can often seem really hard to incorporate it into our day, especially the every changing guidelines on what we should and shouldn’t be doing in terms of ‘exercise’. At Flow we love moving.  We particularly love the water and our beautiful coastline and countryside.  We are so lucky to have the biggest natural gym available right on our doorstep.  Our treadmill is the coast path, our pool the sea.  The stepper is the road up from the beach, weights can be rocks on the beach.  Instead of the rower, we like to partake in spot of paddle boarding – which is even better when you combine it with some Pilates on the board.  Your toning, stretching and core routine?  We grab the mats and head to the beach or green for some Pilates.
When you use your imagination, combining physical activity with the extra dimension of being outside and engaging with our environment can enhance our enjoyment, motivation and commitment.

At Flow we understand that it is not always easy to get away; be it due to childcare or mobility issues.  We are able to offer treatment in an environment that suits you; usually your home or office, but we will equally be happy to meet you on the beach!  All we ask is that there is sufficient room for relevant equipment and that the environment is safe and appropriate for the treatment you require.

Prices will vary depending on location and individual circumstances.  Please get in touch and we can discuss your needs and how we are able to accommodate them.  We always aim to offer a fair and accessible service; so we will do all we can to ensure the prices reflect this.

Training for a charity event? If you book a sports massage as part of your training for a charity, we will donate 25% of your massage cost to a charity of your choice.
