We are all busy people.  We so often rush through each day, moving from task to task getting our list of daily chores ticked off.  We often don’t find the time to pay attention to the moment; how we are moving, how we are feeling and what we are doing.  We eat on the go, look for quick fixes and often find it difficult to make time to nourish our bodies and look after ourselves. If our energy is firmly focused on other things, our energy is drawn away from us and can lead us to feeling fatigued and detached from ourselves.

 

We all know how important exercise is.  However, it can often seem really hard to incorporate it into our day, especially the every changing guidelines on what we should and shouldn’t be doing in terms of ‘exercise’. At Flow we love moving.  We particularly love the water and our beautiful coastline and countryside.  We are so lucky to have the biggest natural gym available right on our doorstep.  Our treadmill is the coast path, our pool the sea.  The stepper is the road up from the beach, weights can be rocks on the beach.  Instead of the rower, we like to partake in spot of paddle boarding – which is even better when you combine it with some Pilates on the board.  Your toning, stretching and core routine?  We grab the mats and head to the beach or green for some Pilates.

 

When you use your imagination, combining physical activity with the extra dimension of being outside and engaging with our environment can enhance our enjoyment, motivation and commitment.
